AKURE – The atmosphere at the Akure Township Stadium was filled with excitement and optimism as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa was officially inaugurated as the 7th democratically elected Executive Governor of Ondo State. Among the key figures who graced the occasion was Otunba Agboola Kelly, Secretary of the APC Elders’ Caucus, who described the Governor’s swearing-in as a “testament to fresh air” and a pathway to unprecedented development in the Sunshine State.
Speaking to the press at the event, Otunba Kelly expressed confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s ability to prioritize the interests of the people and drive fundamental growth across the state. He commended the resilience and unwavering support of the Ondo people, emphasizing that the overwhelming 18-0 victory recorded in the last election was a historic moment for democracy in the state.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of high-profile dignitaries from across the country, including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Umar Ganduje; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji; and other esteemed personalities.
Otunba Kelly, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for standing firmly behind what he described as a “God-sent leadership.” He reassured the citizens that with Governor Aiyedatiwa at the helm, the era of hardship and suffering in Ondo State was over.
Furthermore, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to Governor Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, urging them to see this new chapter as a divine call to serve the people with fairness, justice, and the fear of God.
