The Ondo State APC Elders Movement on Monday gathered in Akure for a crucial meeting where Distinguished Senator Nimbe Farunkanmi, Chairman of the Forum, presented a historic welcome address in solidarity with the ONDO FOR TINUBU 2027 initiative, officially launched earlier by the Executive Governor of Ondo State and leader of the APC in the state, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
The Address reads:
Welcome address presented by Distinguished Senator Nimbe Farunkanmi to members of the ONDO STATE APC ELDERS MOVEMENT in total support of the earlier officially launched ONDO FOR TINUBU 2027 by our beloved Governor Licky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor and OO1 APC Leader of in Ondo State, at the meeting held today, Monday September 15th, in the year of the Lord 2025, at Akure, Ondo State.
Standing on existing protocols, I wish to congratulate our EASE Governor for the timely launching of the ONDO STATE FOR TINUBU 2027 at the well attended recent inauguration of the constitutional Ondo State APC State Caucus, held at the Banquet Hall of the Governor’s House.
I feel highly fulfilled and grateful to the Almighty God who has granted me the grace of a healthy life to witness this day.
Today reminds me of my days at the Ondo State House of Assmbly, when I was one of the last few honourable Members standing in support of our unforgettable Leader and patrioticv father, Chief Michael be Adekunle Ajasin, now of blessed memory, but his spirit keeps marching on.
Our father, Pa Rueben Fasoranti, whom God has blessed with a long healthy life as the undisputable Yoruba Leader was the comrade-in-arms then to our revered Leader Papa Ajasin during the ’83 historical struggle for the emancipation of the Yoruba race led by our father, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in general and Ondo State in particular ably led by Papa Ajasin.
It gladdens my heart to note that Divine by intervention, Pa Fasoranti, Chief Arogbofa who are forever Disciples of Papa Awo stood solidly behind our beloved son, Dr Lucky Orimsan Aiyedatiwa during his travails and I Senator Nimbe Farunkanmi as the Eldrs set up the APC Elders Working Committee with my trusted and loyal Secretary Otunba Agboola Kelly and Chief Jamiu Ekungba to stand in for me as acting Chairman, in the struggle to defend the truth that the then Deputy Gov Aiyedatiwa personified. To God be the Glory and Praise for the eventual victory of our EASE Governor. May the Grace of the Almighty God continue to abide with him and lead him to achieve the egalitarian Ondo State of our dreams in Jesus name amen.
I want to thank all Members of the Steering committee who worked tirelessly to ensure that today’s meeting take place. Kudos goes to Engr Ogunleye, popularly known as BEATRON, who hosted the Committee in his home throughout, as well as many others who’s solidarity with the struggle, have written their names in gold forever.
Once again, I thank you all for coming and I trust that the good Love will grant us a successful deliberation.
