It was an historic moment at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, as Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the NLC, was honoured with the prestigious title of “2025 Most Outstanding NLC Icon & Pillar of National Development” by The New Nigeria Television Channels (TNNTV).
The ceremony, held at the iconic NLC House, drew a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, labour leaders, associates, and friends of the NLC President. The recognition was conferred by the leadership of TNNTV Channels, led by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Seun Akinde, who presented the award alongside the national management team of the media organization.
Guests at the event commended Comrade Ajaero for his visionary leadership, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of Nigerian workers, describing him as a rare patriot who continues to put the interests of labour and the nation above personal gains. Many also applauded TNNTV Channels for its foresight, professionalism, and consistent unbiased reportage over the years.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Ajaero expressed deep gratitude to the management of TNNTV Channels for the honour, stating that the recognition stood out among others because of the credibility and professionalism of the awarding body.
“I have turned down several awards over the years, but this one is extremely exceptional. I accept it wholeheartedly because it comes from a credible and professional institution. I dedicate this award to all Nigerian workers across the nation, whose resilience and sacrifices remain the true foundation of our national development,” he said.
Highlight of the event was a powerful address delivered by Dr. Seun Akinde, Chairman/CEO of TNNTV Channels and Publisher of TNNNEWS Magazine. He praised Comrade Ajaero as a courageous labour leader whose advocacy has kept the dignity of Nigerian workers alive.
